What’s happening?
Experiencing issues with Cloud Migration where data is not being migrated, the status remains stuck in "Upgrade in Progress," or there are no updates shown during the replication process.

Reason:

  • The Cloud Migration process may be timing out due to the on-premise SQL Server being unable to handle the current load.
  • The migration may be stuck in "Upgrade in Progress" status for an extended period, indicating a potential stall in the process.
  • The replication process may not show any progress or updates, particularly when dealing with a large number of companies.
Resolution:
  • For cases where data is not migrating and no errors are displayed, it is recommended to monitor the migration process and confirm the status. If the upgrade is still in progress, wait for the "Upgrade Successful" notification.
  • If the migration is stuck in "Upgrade in Progress," it is advised to check the current status and ensure that the upgrade is still running. If it has been over 12 hours, consider reaching out for further assistance.
  • In situations where the replication is timing out, it is recommended to split the replication process into smaller batches, ideally around ten companies at a time, to reduce the load on the SQL Server.
  • As an immediate action, stopping the SQL Server for about ten minutes may help reset the current replication process, allowing it to restart with the recommended adjustments.
  • If the migration process continues to show no updates, consider creating a new environment and starting the migration process again, running it in batches to manage the load effectively.
