What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with the display language in Business Central Cloud, where certain functions and pages are not fully translated to the desired language. Specifically, some functions are still showing in the original language despite attempts to change the display settings.
Reason:
This is identified as a known design limitation within the system. The workflow templates and key performance indicators do not translate records as they are pulled from the database rather than captions that have translations loaded by a language layer.
Additional Information:
Changing Environment Region: Currently, there is no tool or method to change the environment from one region to another (e.g., from DE to HK). The only way to create a new environment in a different region is to:
- Create a new environment in the desired region (e.g., HK).
- Use a configuration package to export and import data and settings.
- Be aware that different regions have different localization features, which may lead to errors during migration.
- Set up a .bacpac file in the admin panel.
- Once the .bacpac file is created, download and restore it to an SQL server (either locally or on Azure).
- Perform a normal cloud migration into the newly created blank environment.
- Note that DE fields/tables will not be migrated as they do not exist in the new environment, and additional HK-specific setup may be required.
Shared Access Signature: Generate a Shared Access Signature before creating the database export.
Documentation Reference: For detailed steps on exporting databases, refer to the Microsoft documentation on Exporting databases in the admin center - Business Central.
