What’s happening?
The cost actual-to-budget association could not find a budget line for the dimensions on the actual, resulting in the actual being regarded as unbudgeted spend on the project.
Reason:
The budget evaluation process can fail to find a matching budget line due to various reasons, including:
- The affected budget line is still under planned budget and has not been approved.
- The actuals may have different transaction types that do not match the budget line requirements.
- The budget match priorities may not align with the actuals, leading to unsuccessful matching attempts.
Resolution:
- Reevaluate Budget Association: Navigate to the impacted actual without budget association and click on the "Reevaluate budget association" button. Wait until the Budget Evaluation Status is completed.
- Check Budget Approval: Ensure that the affected budget line is approved. The budget must be approved for the cost actuals to be matched with the budget lines.
- Modify Budget Match Priorities: Adjust the budget match priorities according to business logic. Consider removing certain priorities or loosening the priority list to ensure better matching.
- Clear Browser Cache: If issues persist, clear the browser cache and perform a hard reload of the current page:
- Press F12 on your keyboard to open the developer tool.
- Right-click on the refresh button on the browser.
- Click on “Empty cache and hard reload”.
- Review Transaction Types: Verify that the actuals are of the correct transaction type (e.g., Cost transaction type) that aligns with the budget line requirements.
