What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing errors when attempting to assign resources to project tasks, including an error message stating, "Couldn't assign resource. Please try again."
Reason:
The error during resource assignment may be related to a limitation in the system that restricts the number of resource assignments to 20 per project.
Resolution:
Verify if the number of resource assignments exceeds the limit of 20 per project. If so, consider reducing the number of assignments or splitting tasks into smaller segments.
Note: This limitation will be increased to 50 in a later update. A customer may register for the private preview of this increase. See Project and task limitations | Microsoft Learn for more information.
