What’s happening?
The error message "Inventory dimension Site is mandatory and must consequently be specified" occurs during the creation of a sales order in Project Intercompany Transactions.
Reason:
This arises because the transaction does not contain some inventory dimensions that are being set as required, such as site, warehouse, or location.
Resolution:
To resolve this, please ensure that all necessary inventory dimensions are specified in your transaction. Validate the following setups:
1. Default Order Settings: Navigate to Product Information Management > Released Products, select the relevant product, then go to the Manage Inventory menu > Order Settings, and ensure that the default site is set up correctly.
2. Intercompany Orders: For intercompany order lines, ensure that the default site is set up in both the vendor and customer companies in Lines details> Product tab.
3. Customer Master/Vendor Master Settings: Verify that the customer master settings include the default inventory dimensions, including the site by going to Sales/ Purchase order defaults tab.
