What’s happening?
The customer is unable to view a breakdown of the indirect costs configured through the "Costing Sheet" form when calculating item costs.
 

Reason:
This may be due to the absence of a blank cost calculation version created from the current date, or it could be related to misconfiguration or incorrect setup of the "Costing Sheet" form.
 

Resolution:

  • Costing Sheet Setup:
    • Indirect cost codes - Ensure that indirect cost codes are correctly defined in the costing sheet with the "Node type" set to "Surcharge", "Rate", or "Output unit based".
    • Cost groups - Verify that cost groups are assigned a "Cost group type" of "Indirect" and have a "Behavior" (fixed or variable) if needed.
    • Calculation Formulas - Confirm that calculation formulas are defined for indirect costs, specifying whether they are a surcharge or a rate based on the selected cost group.
  • Cost Group Configuration:
    • Cost Group Types - Ensure that each cost group has the correct cost group type (direct material, direct manufacturing, direct outsourcing, or indirect).
    • Cost Group Behavior - If needed, assign a behavior (fixed or variable) to cost groups for reporting purposes. 
  • Indirect Cost for Specific Items: 
    • If you want to apply indirect costs to specific items, ensure that the rate or surcharge is defined in the "Rate or Surcharge FastTab" with the "Valid for" field set to "Table" and the "Relation" field to the specific item number. 
  • Routing Operations:
    • If indirect costs are applied to routing operations, ensure that the routing operations are correctly linked to the production order and that the relevant cost categories are assigned.
  • Run cleanup jobs to clear any cached data that may be affecting the cost calculations.
  • Create a new costing version with an updated "Valid From" date to ensure that the indirect costs are properly displayed in the cost calculation detail.
  • Verify the configuration settings related to indirect costs in the "Costing Sheet" form to ensure they are set up correctly.
