What’s happening?
Users are receiving warnings that the Sales Order Header V2 entity is deprecated. They want to know how long this entity will continue to function without issues, as they have a significant number of customizations relying on this version.
Reason:
The Sales Order Header V2 entity has been marked as obsolete, and there is no official documentation specifying how long it will remain available. Its continued availability depends on various factors, including the number of customers and partners using it.
Resolution:
- It is recommended to start transitioning customizations to the new version of the entity.
- Microsoft typically pulls telemetry on artifacts before removing code, and while there are instances where objects marked as obsolete remain available for years, there is no guarantee of support for issues arising from the old version.
- The Sales Order Header V2 entity was marked obsolete in version 10.0.16 but is still accessible via OData. However, any issues with this entity will not receive support from Microsoft, and customers will be required to upgrade to the new version.
- The Sales Order Header V4 entity is available from version 10.0.40.
