What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing issues with the release to warehouse process, specifically when attempting to release items that are not fully available due to negative inventory.
Reason:
The root cause of this is identified as a configuration problem within the system that affects the release to warehouse functionality.
Resolution:
- Identify Partially Released Loads: Access the Load or Shipment and compare the "quantity" of the load with the "work created quantity" to identify loads that are partially released to the warehouse.
- Manual Inventory Adjustment: For items that are not available, manually adjust the inventory and perform a second release to the warehouse from the load planning workbench.
- Load Template Selection: Manually select the load template and release to the warehouse for each load that has a remaining quantity.
- Customization Options: Consider customizing the loads form to display the field "available physical on exact dimensions" on the menu, allowing a load template ID to appear by default, and enabling the release of multiple loads at once.
- Reservation Strategy: Reserve only the quantity available physically on the exact location to ensure that the load is created with only that quantity. This allows for the release of new quantities to the warehouse as they become available.
- Testing in UAT: Perform the outlined steps in a User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environment to validate the process and ensure it meets business needs.
