What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing a logo resolution issue when printing sales documents (such as order confirmations, invoices, quotations, and free text invoices) from the Electronics Report. The printed logo loses its original pixel quality, resulting in a blurred or unclear appearance.
 

Reason:
The resolution of images embedded in the Electronics Report (ER) in PDF report files is set to 96 DPI in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. This resolution is a common standard for screens, as Windows also uses 96 DPI for rendering. PDF editors or converters default to 96 DPI for embedded images to balance image quality with file size.
 

Resolution:

  • Adjust the height and width values of the picture in the report design.
  • Note that the resolution will remain at 96 DPI in the PDF file, even if the source image has a higher resolution.
  • If the issue persists, consider testing with a demo logo provided in the documentation to determine if the problem is specific to the current logo being used.
