What’s happening?
The system inconsistently adds item numbers to subsequent counting journals without following a clear pattern, leading to confusion regarding previously counted inventory lines.
Reason:
This arises when on-hand inventory lines that have already been counted in a previous journal appear again in subsequent counting journals.
Resolution:
To resolve the counting journal issue, configure the counting group and counting journal settings to avoid showing on-hand inventory lines in the counting journal if they have already been counted in a previous journal. Specifically, use the Counting code field to set the criteria for including lines in the counting journal. For example: - Use the Period option to include lines for the period in the counting journal when the period interval has expired. - Use the Zero in stock option to include lines when the on-hand inventory reaches zero.
