What’s happening?
Production orders are not automatically exploding their Bill of Materials (BOM) when using planning optimization, whereas they do when using the deprecated Master Planning.
Reason:
Manually created planned production orders will not be exploded automatically after creation with Planning Optimization by design.
Resolution:
- For Released production orders
- Confirm whether the flag “Include all BOM levels” is enabled when running planning optimization.
- Verify the value for “BOM explosion time fence” defined for the coverage group associated with the item.
- For manually created planned production orders
- Approve the orders before running Planning Optimization in order to be exploded.
