What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with document printing that require frequent manual intervention, such as restarting or resetting the printing process. This has led to frustration among plant workers due to the need for weekly maintenance to ensure printing functionality.
Reason:
The underlying cause of the printing issues may relate to the stability of the document writer application, which necessitates regular logins and resets. Additionally, there may be concerns regarding the configuration and management of the document routing agent.
Resolution:
- To troubleshoot the document printing issues, follow these steps:
- Open the Document Routing Agent (DRA) application and check the status of the printers.
- Click on the active printer and select "Print Test" to verify functionality.
- If there are no errors but the document does not print, try printing from other active printers to determine if the issue is specific to one printer.
- Check for common issues that may affect printing, such as:
- Network stability
- Printer drivers' stability
- Ink and paper supply
- The number of printers registered on the DRA
- Ensure that the DRA is updated to the latest version.
- Review the Event Logs of the DRA host machine for any errors related to printing.
- For specific setups, refer to the documentation on wave label printing and ensure that all configurations are correctly implemented.
