What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing a failure when reporting as finished from the production floor execution, which results in the creation of unposted picking list journals. An error message stating "location must be specified" appears if a reservation was not done properly, leading to issues in subsequent attempts.

Reason:
This arises when the picking list is generated automatically during reporting, but a proper reservation is not made. This results in the system creating unposted picking lists that must be manually deleted by users in the system.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that the "issue status after raw material picking" is set to reserved physical.
  2. Verify that the BOM lines flushing principle is set to finish to allow for automatic picking list generation.
  3. If the error "location must be specified" occurs, check the reservation status and ensure that it is done correctly before attempting to report as finished again.
  4. If unposted picking lists are left in the system, users must manually delete these lists in the system before retesting the process.
  5. For scenarios involving multiple batches, ensure that both batches are properly reserved and that the picking list includes the necessary dimensions to avoid errors during backflushing.
