What’s happening?
The customer requires assistance in configuring pay agreements so that overtime is only paid after a minimum number of hours worked beyond contracted hours. Specifically, overtime should be paid at a rate of 25% only when more than a specified number of hours are registered per week.
Reason:
The current setup does not correctly calculate overtime payments for hours worked beyond the contracted hours. The system either calculates overtime incorrectly or does not pay overtime at all despite various attempts to adjust the settings.
Resolution:
- Confirm that the worker is contracted for a specific number of hours, which is reflected in the time profile.
- Ensure that the overtime payment is set to activate only after the specified threshold of hours worked (e.g., only after 39 hours).
- Review the current pay type configuration to ensure that the overtime rate is set correctly and that it is associated with the appropriate rate.
- If the overtime percentage is not editable, verify if it is inherited from the defined rates and ensure that the rates are set up correctly.
- Test the configuration by creating a pay type manually and checking if the percentage field can be edited.
- Confirm how the data was loaded into the system—whether it was created manually or imported—and check for any custom code related to this business process.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, further investigation may be required to identify any underlying problems with the configuration.
