What’s happening?
The customer is seeking assistance with uploading minimum and maximum stock levels for all items, specifically regarding safety stock in a Dynamics 365 environment.

Reason:
The customer requires guidance on how to set the minimum and maximum stock levels for all items in the system.

Resolution:
To set the minimum and maximum stock levels (safety stock) for all items in Dynamics 365, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Released Products:
  2. Go to Product information management > Products > Released products.
  3. Select the relevant product from the grid.
  4. Set Stock Level:
  5. On the Action Pane, go to the Plan tab and select Item coverage.
  6. On the Overview tab, click New to add a line to the grid.
  7. Specify the relevant product dimensions (e.g., Site, etc.).
  8. In the Minimum field, enter the safety stock value. This value is expressed in inventory units and ensures the system generates planned orders to prevent inventory from falling below this limit.
  9. Use Minimum/Maximum Keys:
  10. To adjust safety stock levels by seasonality, go to Master planning > Setup > Coverage > Minimum/maximum keys.
  11. Set the Minimum key field on the General tab of the Item coverage page.
  12. Set Up Min-Max Replenishment Process:
  13. Go to Warehouse management > Setup > Location directives.
  14. Create a new location directive for replenishment, specifying the minimum and maximum levels.
These steps will help maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure that stock does not run out unexpectedly.
