What’s happening?
The customer is unable to create a new barcode for a product using the create/update barcode button on the item's barcode form. The expected barcode type is not visible in the drop-down list on the barcode setup field.


Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the previously created barcode mask for the UPC A barcode type is not appearing in the list when attempting to create a new barcode.


Resolution:

  • Ensure that the barcode mask for the UPC A barcode type has been correctly set up and assigned in the barcode setup form.
  • Navigate to the item on the released products form and click on the barcode option.
  • Select the "create/update bar codes" button, and when the slider appears, check the drop-down list on the barcode setup field to confirm if the expected barcode type is visible.
  • If the barcode type is still not visible, verify that the filter on the mask field is removed to see all barcode types set up.
