What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing conflicts with transfer pricing calculations when unit conversions are involved, particularly in stock transfers and multiple order quantity setups.
Reason:
The underlying issue identified is that the system incorrectly divides instead of multiplying the cost during unit conversion. Additionally, there are complications arising from unit conversions that involve multiple order quantities and decimal precision.
Resolution:
- For the transfer price conflict with unit conversion:
- Ensure that the unit conversion details are correctly set up, including weight and quantity conversions (e.g., 1 box = 0.9 kg, 1 carton box = 9 kg, and 1 sachet = 0.0375 kg).
- Test the scenario on a standard machine to replicate the issue and confirm the calculations.
- If the issue persists, consult with the product group (PG) team for further analysis and potential bug classification.
- For unit conversion issues when there is multiple order quantity setup:
- Implement a sales agreement with a quantity commitment type for specific customers to limit line quantities.
- Adjust the default order settings to set minimum and maximum quantities to be ordered. This can be done by navigating to Product Information > Released products, selecting the item, and managing inventory settings.
- Ensure that users are notified if they attempt to enter a quantity outside the specified limits, allowing them to adjust accordingly.
- If further assistance is needed, schedule a screen-sharing session to investigate the issue in detail.
- If the problem is identified as a design issue or requires a redesign, escalate the case to the appropriate engineering team for resolution.
- Document any findings and share them with the customer to keep them informed of the progress.
