What’s happening?
Customers have concerns about the feasibility of running multiple production instances in parallel for their business units within the same Microsoft Entra tenant.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is the need for multiple production instances to accommodate various business units, especially in the context of mergers and acquisitions, which may require separate onboarding processes.

Resolution:

  • Customers can create multiple projects within the same Microsoft Entra tenant, provided the minimum license requirements are met.
  • It is important to note that only one production instance can be deployed per project.
  • For users who require access to multiple environments, they must be licensed separately for each environment. The minimum license requirement is 20 full user licenses. For example, if a customer plans to run three LCS implementation projects on the same Microsoft Entra tenant, they would need to purchase at least 60 licenses.
