What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing challenges with exporting data from Dynamics 365 to Azure Storage using the deprecated Data to Data Lake Plugin. They are attempting to transition to using Azure Synapse Link for data extraction but are encountering errors during the process.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to the deprecation of the Data to Data Lake Plugin, which is set to be discontinued by the end of 2024. Customers need to transition to Azure Synapse Link to continue their data extraction processes. Additionally, there may be issues with enabling row version tracking for certain tables, which affects their visibility in Synapse.
Resolution:
- Confirm the transition process to Azure Synapse Link is initiated as the Data to Data Lake Plugin will be deprecated.
- Follow the steps outlined in the Microsoft documentation for configuring Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse:
- Ensure that the necessary tables are enabled for Synapse Link.
- For tables that are not appearing, enable row version tracking by customizing the desired object and enabling the row version change tracking property.
- Refer to the documentation on how to enable row version change tracking for tables and data entities.
- If errors occur during the data import process, check for specific error messages and ensure that the configuration aligns with the requirements outlined in the Microsoft documentation.
- Schedule a meeting with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist with the configuration if further assistance is needed.
- Monitor the status of the transition and confirm if any additional support is required before the deprecation date.
