What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing errors when attempting to generate certificates in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) on-premises implementations.
Reason:
This is related to the configuration of the Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) and the certificate templates used in the generation process. Specific errors encountered include instances where the system points to an incorrect server or where existing certificate templates are not supported.
Resolution:
- Collaborate with the ADCS team to ensure that the correct server is being used for certificate generation.
- If a new error appears after pointing to the correct server, investigate the specific error message.
- Delete any existing certificate templates that may be causing conflicts.
- Create new certificate templates using the appropriate script:
- Run the script with the command: {ALPHANUMERICPII} -ConfigurationFilePath .\ConfigTemplate.xml -CreateTemplates.
- Confirm that the new certificates are generated successfully and verify their functionality.
- If issues persist, continue to collaborate with the ADCS team for further troubleshooting.
