What’s happening?
Users have been deleted from the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) user list, but the licenses for these users are still being consumed.
Reason:
In Dynamics 365 F&O, licenses are counted based on the roles assigned to the users. Even after users are deleted, if their roles are not unassigned, the licenses will continue to be consumed.
Resolution:
- Review the roles assigned to the deleted users to ensure they are no longer active.
- Access the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Navigate to the Licenses page.
- Select the product associated with the licenses.
- Check the boxes of the users for whom you want to unassign licenses.
- In the Unassign licenses box, select Unassign.
- Confirm the changes to ensure that the licenses are no longer being consumed.
