No data shown in drop down list in edit form for SharePoint list

I have a Power App which uses a few SharePoint online lists as it's data source

In the display screens where I have drop down list controls the existing data from the SharePoint list choice menu field is shown

When I then open the edit form the drop down list does not show this existing data.

If I then opened the drop down list and after is initially loads the items and I selected on and save the record then next time I open the edit form the drop down list are being populated with the existing data

I have this problem with the custom app I buit from scatch but the same thing occurs if I create a power app straight from the list in SharePoint online.

Hi SolutionsItCTO,

If you are trying to add a new record using the Edit form, there would be no data shown on the dropdown control until you click the dropdown button.

While if you are editing an existing record on the Edit form, there should be data shown on the dropdown control.

It should be the same with neither the app you created from scratch or from the SharePoint list.

Hi Mabel,

Whilst what you say should be the case in fact that is exactly the problem I have - in Edit mode NO data is shown in the drop down list even though there is data populated in those fields in the list record
As I mentioned this occurs also when I let the system create the Power App directly from the SharePoint list

I can confirm having the exact same issue with my app connecting to Sharepoint Online. When editing an existing list item, after selecting it from gallery, the choice lists are NOT populated with values.

Sorry for the double post. Actually after a further investigation, the issue looks like to be tied to a broader problem I've been facing with my app for a few months now.

It's the weird, extremely long (4-5 times of the loading dots passing by) load time of the choice fields on new or edit forms. If I open up the new item form when the weird loading is still in progress, I can't even expand the choice lists at all - it would say there's 0 options to choose from. When the loading finishes, the choice lists expand fine. Same goes for edit forms - after the long loading is over, the choice fields populate correctly.

It's not the gallery items that are loading - these show up way faster - as you can see on screenshots below.

I've been able to reproduce the issue with an out-of-the-box app generated from Sharepoint button - the forms behave exactly the same.

I can't help but think it's some sort of Sharepoint connector issue or maybe a throttle on my particular site (why?)?
