2023-01 update has broken browser control again

This morning, I had an auto update. Before it (earlier in the morning) the flows were working but afterwards they are not.

There are no Automate updates nor browser driver updates to accompany it (yet).

I already had 22H2 working so it isn't a v3 driver issue. Just a heads up to anyone who can avoid the update if you are needing Automate to keep working

I don't see anything beyond 2.27.177 - is that what you are referring to?

Sorry - clarification....Windows update 2023-01 (KB5022303) has stopped automate from accessing browsers again.

Okay, in that case I believe you can remove this update and revert back to the previous Windows update and hoping you have already done the same.

In my windows installation which is 21H2 the 2023-01 (KB5022303) updates did NOT cause the browser automations to fail as the December updates did.

This PAD/Windows update issue is very frustrating...

If you have not yet, I suppose you could try the MSI installer work-around that worked for the December update problem. See the sequence of actions described by @Zygmunt in this post.

I ended up fixing it by removing the browser plugin, getting automate to tell me the plugin was missing (by trying to capture a browser element in a flow edit) and get it back from the link provided. Restarted all and it works again. Just trying to update or adjust the plugin had no effect....the equivalent of 'turn it off and on again but with remove and add back plugins (with a restart). Frustrating and tedious, but at least it works again (for now)
