Default "Edit All" button not mirroring custom Edit button

i have basically inserted a button into a vanilla form and copied all the code in the OnEdit property to the button. When i click on the button to edit the form, it changes the form to edit mode but the SP "Edit All" button does not change its state to Save, seeing as the form is now in Edit mode.

is there a way of ensuring that the edit All button changes to Save when the custom edit button is clicked? thereby ensuring some sense of consistency.

I posted on something similar about 5 minutes ago here.
This facility I believe was designed to work within the built-in functions which would not be aware of (or react to) anything custom that has been programmed, so what you are experiencing is probably to be expected.

i try to stick to the integrated save, edit all and cancel buttons. i'm starting to realise they(OnSave mainly) are not working as they are supposed to. the OnSave used to trigger every time a user clicked last week, but now it only triggers once.

Do you think this is a bug or something we have to live with as well? the inconsistency it introduces is not great for user experience

Hi @Gottijay2000 ,
I generally add a RequestHide() after all saving actions, making the user re-select the updated record from SharePoint if they want to do something else with it.
I understand that you want to enhance the capabilities of the SharePoint Integration facility, but (and this is only my opinion), if you want to write something beyond a basic edit/new record, a standalone app is a better option.
