Email Card not working

Hi Power users,

Please , I have a simple issue (Or soo I think). I created an edit form that should take users, full name, and email. I connected this to the CDS and used the Application user entity. However, WHen I put in my work email address and submit, the form refreshes itself and rejects it. Please is there something I may be missing? Thank you in advance.

I also opened the card options to see if I needed to change any of the parameters, it seems like since it is a required field I can't change anything, so I'm really confused about why it keeps rejecting email addresses and what can be done about it. Thank you.

Plus I must say that this community has been the best part of using powerapps, because frustrations are many. But like one user said, I'll have to take it slowly.

Hi

Yes, this forum is the best place to benchmark, but solution remains in users' hand.

May I share idea for checking
- are those field properly selected in CDS? Example, email, number, text, integer...
- are they checked for " Required"? You may change in CDS, as and when necessary
- the card is locked. But, you can move to Advanced Tab to unlock the card to modify

Last but not least,.. If the connection to internet is affected, Submit form may result in some trouble.

Hi AJ,

For testing, I just created an app from CDS Application user entity, then when I tried to write data back to the entity, the form refreshed itself but finally I got the error looks like below:

Then I opened the entity in Excel, and tried to publish data from the Excel(with the same data that I tried in the app), the data can be added and it can also be shown on the app.

After your data was rejected, did you get any messages?

Hi Mabel,

Yes I got the same message saying either the value is invalid or an answer is required. But the value was an email address, so I'm wondering why it is being thrown back?

Hi Aj,

Have you configured the form with other required fields, such as the field “AAD user object ID”, “BusinessUnit”, etc.?
When you submit data to this entity, all the required fields need a value.

I will report this issue from my side and back to you once I got any updates.

Hi Mabel,

Thanks a lot would check the entity in the cds for all the required fields. Didn't know all the required fields had to be filled in, I thought it would only be when they are are visible but apparently not. Maybe that's the issue. I think I'll just use a Sharepoint list then, so I don't further complicate things for myself. Please would be expecting a reply from you on the onselct property for my flow. Thank you so much, you have been really helpful.
