Power Apps Premium Plan and Pricing

Hi all,

I am currently building several Power Apps using Microsoft Dataverse (not the Dataverse for Teams); then I published those apps to Teams channel as Power Apps tab and my Teams users can access to all apps. However, I read the pricing plan of Power Apps saying that it charges $5/user/app/month. I assume that "user" here is user that does not own O365 subscription, is it?

Besides, the Power Apps use rights with O365 License is said to not cover utilize Dataverse; if so, why am i allowed to published multiple apps using Dataverse to Teams tab and Teams users still can have access to it?

Your helping would be much appreciated! Thank you so much in advance.

    Hi @tramlam74,

To enable these Microsoft applications, limited Dataverse functionality is added to select Microsoft 365 licenses. This is achieved by adding a new service plan named "Dataverse" to the Microsoft 365 licenses.

To see the new service plan in the Microsoft 365 admin center, select a user, select the Licenses and Apps tab, and then scroll down and expand the Apps section.

These limited capabilities of Dataverse are only available through select Microsoft 365 licenses and can't be used to run any custom Power Apps applications or Power Automate flows, or run any Power Virtual Agent bots, or use any other data that doesn't belong to the Microsoft 365 applications that take advantage of these capabilities.

Please check the doc for details:

    Hi @tramlam74

Just to confirm, for your scenario you need to have a premium Power Apps license (either per user or per app) for each of the users of your app.

The Dataverse access under the Office 365 license does not entitle you to build your own app on Dataverse (which is what you have done).

why am i allowed to published multiple apps using Dataverse to Teams tab and Teams users still can have access to it? Because Microsoft does not technically enforce all of it's licensing. As a consumer of their service you need to ensure that you are meeting the licensing requirements, regardless of whether you can technically do something or not.
