PowerApps Choices not visible in dropdown menu on full screen

Hi all,

I am creating a PowerApp application with SharePoint lists. We have some choice boxes in our PowerApp, but when you use a wide screen, the choice is not completely visible anymore (see the picture in the attachment). Is there are a solution to fix this problem?

Hello,

Have you tried clicking on the DataCardValue for that dropdown and adjusting the Width property?

This is a known issue when aspect ratio is unlocked. The workaround is to lock aspect ratio. Go to File > App settings > Screen size + orientation > Lock aspect ratio.

Hi, did PowerApps team ever find a resolution to this issue? I too am experiencing this issue and I have a feature that must allow users to rotate their phone sideways to view a compare gallery feature that was built.

Not that I know of. The recommended approach is still to lock aspect ratio.

Just curious, do you want your app to be able to switch orientation? For example, the first few screens are in portrait mode, and when users go to the compare gallery, the screen will be in landscape mode?

I don't quite agree with locking the aspect ratio permanently. I hope others might agree as well. That is reducing the full functionality of PowerApps looking forward. I have released a notification to my users telling them how they can rotate their screen where drop-down menus are intended to be used in portrait mode so they can see their choices. This will be the temporary fix but I hope you guys look into this. That's where I have a hard time with this. By building an app that uses the landscape and portrait function, why are my dropdowns affected, why should I have to completely lock the aspect ratio?

To answer the 2nd part of your statement, yes, yes, and yes. That is specifically what I want the app to do. There really needs to be a view in the editor for landscape mode for mobile phones. I am aware of the tablet view and that is what we use for all of our web apps but we are severely limited when using just portrait mode on mobile phones.
