@diepic - Dataverse search is usually turned on by default, can you validate if it is?
If it is not, you do not need to be an admin of the tenant in order to activate it. A System Admin and System Customizer should also be able to activate that toggle.
If you have neither of those roles, I would suggest speaking to someone with the correct security permissions to activate it, before going down the XrmToolbox route.
