Adding, consulting and editing items in database without using a gallery

Hi !

I'm new in PowerApps. Thank you for all the help you're offering. Here's my problem:

I need to create an app with three screens.

1. Browse screen with buttons that correspond to categories in a column (no gallery).

2. Detail screen with a date picker to show data that only match the selected date and the selected category in the browse screen (this is already done).

3. Edit/Add screen. The add screen works correctly as I used the automatic creation tool in SharePoint. But as I'm not using a gallery (that I've already deleted when the app was automatically created), when clicking in the edit icon, I need the edit screen to show and be able to modify the last item shown in the previous screen (the detail screen).

At this time, I have just a error appearing on the screen. I don't know how to do this.

Any help or suggestions ?

Thank you all !

    @MrFortest

    For performance sake, maintain only one screen example Edit Screen.

    Then insert 3 buttons that changes the mode of the form to achieve same purpose as the 3 screens;

    Button 1: EditForm (YourformName)

    Button 2: NewForm (YourformName)

    Button 3: ViewForm (YourformName)

    Hi @MrFortest ,

    If you make the DataSource and the Item of both screens are the same, you should see the same record.

    Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

    Hello there !

    Still having the same problem. I made my DataSource the same on both screens but the data from the item doesn't appear. When clicking the EDIT button that links the DetailScreen and the EditForm, it returns a screen saying something like "Loading your data...".

    The thing is I need a first screen showing 5 categories. When clicking on each, it goes directly to a DetailScreen with a data picker that shows automatically today's item for the category you previously selected. You can also select another day and it shows data from the selected day. Imagine you want to edit data for a certain day's item. You have then another button to edit. But I don't know how to load the item showed in the DetailScreen, in the EditForm when clicking on the EditButton.

    Thanks for you help !

    @MrFortest ,

    What is the Item on both forms?

    @MrFortest ,

    Yes, but what is the Item property of both forms?

    😅I found out what you were referring to. Sorry, newbie in PowerApps.

    So the thing is the Item property of the EditForm still referred to the gallery that was automatically generated by powerapps when I start the app. The DetailScreens have no forms, each label shows the info through LookUp. This is because we wanted to modify how the information was shown, and in forms we couldn't do what we wanted. Is this maybe the problem ? Can't we take the information coming from the DetailScreen into the EditScreen through the Item property without having a form in the first one ?

    Thank you for your patience !!!!😄
