Want to See One Record in a Gallery at a time

Hello All!

Is it possible to create a gallery that contains multiple records, but you only want to be able to see one at a time? Just trying to avoiding a lot of vertical scrolling within my gallery.

If your Table has an ID or any Unique field, insert a Textbox1 which will hold the row you want to see.

    Then filter the Gallery as;

    Filter (Datasource,ID=Textbox1.Text)

    Or

    Filter (Datasource,ID=Value (Textbox1.Text))

Thus you only see what you enter in the Textbox

@eka24 Thank you for the quick response. Is there a way to create navigation to cycle through the gallery?

@eka24  I am replicating an Access DB that I can and would like to have this same functionality. In the example, there would be 12 records, but only one of them is displayed at a time.

@eka24 Thank you, but I would like to avoid users having to enter text.

So, instead I would like to use two dropdowns:

Currently for my gallery, it is filtered by One dropdown:

Filter(Recruiting, ComboBox_Transitions.Selected.Affiliate exactin Affiliate.Value) - This will display all items in a gallery where the combobox (affiliate) matches the affiliate dropdown value).

Now I would like to add a dropdown field where I can update the filter so that the current filter mentioned above+ the value (unique row value is ID) of the dropdown will display only one item in the gallery. This way, the new dropdown can drive the view of each gallery item.

You can ClearCollect() a single item from your dataset into a 1-item collection and use it as the datasource for your gallery.

If your data is sorted by some unique numerical ID, you should be able to make previous and next buttons based on that as well.

    ClearCollect(oneitem, LookUp(allitems, id = ThisItem.id - 1))

    ClearCollect(oneitem, LookUp(allitems, id = ThisItem.id + 1))

    Hi @lparkerMDVIP

I also come from a background in MS Access and I would approach it differently and it is quite simple to do.  My solution would be to use a slider control and a horizontal gallery.  Make the gallery fit the screen for a single record.  Then add all of the fields for that record.  Set the slider minimum of 1 and a maximum CountRows(datasource).  Set the Items property of the gallery to Lookup(datasource, Value(ID)=Slider1.Value).   gallery_Slider.png

    Hi @lparkerMDVIP :

Do you want to control the records displayed by Gallery through two arrows (only 1 record is displayed).

I've made a test for your reference:

    1\Add two arrows

    left arrow:

    OnSelect

    If(var>1,Set(var,var-1)) /*var is my custom variable*/

    rigth arrow

    OnSelect

    Set(var,var+1)

    2\Add a gallery

    Items:

    Last(FirstN(yourdatasource,var))

In addition, if you just want to display 1 record, I suggest you use a form control instead of the gallery.

    Best Regards,

    Bof
