Setting gear in MalwareBytes UI seen as a checkbox

Hello, I am new to PowerAutomate, so I tried a basic test flow, opening MalwareBytes (from the desktop Icon), selecting the Gear (settings) icon, and trying to select the Check for Updates box. However, the generated flow thinks that the settings gear is a checkbox, and gets an error (Failed to set checkbox state, checkbox wasn't found).

Please advise.

You do not necessarily need to record your flow to get actions in there. You can also drag and drop actions from the actions pane on the left side of the designer window. Find the action called Click UI element in window under the UI automation group of actions and add it. Then select the UI element that was captured for the gear icon. And then delete the Set checkbox state in window action.

Thanks for the advice. Still could not get it to work, I think I have used a bad example to test with, I will try another app, and also learn more using the CONTOSO test app.

If it is for learning purposes only, and not an actual business case, it does make much more sense to use a more automation-friendly app, such as Contoso Invoicing, for example.

This actually would have been a useful thing to help my daily workflow, so I could have quickly done a check to get the latest AV files. I might try other apps when I get time, and gradually add to my knowledge of this useful looking automation app.
