Hello all,

Am new to Powerapps and I have a gallery called Customers list. when I input some data into the gallery information I want to update back two fields information back to SharePoint list.

the gallery am showing filter with current user logged in: Filter('Customers', User().Email= SME.Email) and also i want to include one more filter option to the same gallery with one of the field value >1400

I have tried like below: but still getting error.

Filter('Customers', User().Email= SME.Email, Value(Field_Exp.Text)>1400)

Filter('Contract Services', User().Email= SME.Email && Value(Field_Exp.Text)>1400)

Note: Field_Exp text value is like this Text(Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer,"[$-en-US]$##,###.00")
it displays the value as $1523.14

What am doing wrong? can some one help me on this.

Thanks,
Saanv

    Hi @Saan ,

    You have not mentioned the size of your data set, but firstly User().EMail is not delegable.

    The easy workaround for this is to set a Variable (I do mine at App OnStart

    Set(vUserMail,User().Email)

    Then your query

    Filter(
     'Customers',
     vUserMail= SME.Email &&
     Value(Field_Exp.Text) > 1400
    )

    Hello @WarrenBelz ,

    I have tried using the below code. but i got error as :

    this rule created the circular reference between the properties which is not allowed. a property can't reference itself or other propertied affected by it's value

    might be the field text value i kept as : Text(Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer,"[$-en-US]$##,###.00")

    is this going to be problem?

    thanks,

    Saan

    Hi @Saan ,

    I only addressed the User().EMail in my previous post and assumed your second query was valid.

    You are correct about circular references (same as Excel, a formula cannot reference a item that is involved in its calculation)

    However you have a control called Field_Exp (which I assume is a label) where the Text property is

    Text(Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer,"[$-en-US]$##,###.00")

    and you are using a filter

    Filter(
     'Customers',
     vUserMail= SME.Email &&
     Value(Field_Exp.Text) > 1400
    )

    Forgetting about the User email, which should be resolved, why not simply filter

    Filter(
     'Customers',
     vUserMail= SME.Email &&
     Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer > 1400
    )

    If you still get the error, I think the circular reference is a bit further back - you have not mentioned the nature of the values Field_ex or Field_QualityPer (static data or also calculated).

    Hello @WarrenBelz ,

    Value(Field_Exp.Text) is a calculated column in sharepoint. i thought because of calculated column am unable to get the details.

    the Field_Exp = Field_Ex * Field_QualityPer

    Where Field_Exp  =

    Text(Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer,"[$-en-US]$##,###.00")

     Field_Ex = thisitem.expenses (currency type in sharepoint)

    Field_QualityPer = thisitem.qualitypercentage (Number type in sharepoint)

    Thanks,

    Saanv

    I think @WarrenBelz has provided the solution.
    Filter(
    'Customers',
    vUserMail= SME.Email &&
    Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer > 1400
    )
    I suggest you remove the calculated field and filter by
    Filter(
    'Customers',
    vUserMail= SME.Email &&
    Value( Field_Exp.Text)> 1400
    )
    You can insert another field that holds the value of Field_Ex*Field_QualityPer On the gallery. This field is only shown in the gallery without being posted to your List. The intention is to use it to filter and nothing else

    Hi @Saan ,

    Could you please share a bit more about the error message within your app?

    Based on the formula that you mentioned, I think there is something wrong with it. Please consider modify your formula as below:

    Filter(
     'Customers',
     User().Email= SME.Email,
     Value(Field_Ex * Field_QualityPer) > 1400
    )

    Please consider take a try with above solution, then check if the issue is solved.

    If you have solved your problem, please consider go ahead to click "Accept as Solution" to identify this thread has been solved.

    Best regards,
