Flow for metadata and column creation

I've been tasked with making sharepoint file system that allows the users to search for items like a date or certain tags. I'm new to sharepoint and flow, and i wanted to see if theres a way i can retrieve this data automatically from the file being uploaded and place it in a column. For example if I have an excel document created on May 31st 2005 and I uploaded it to sharepoint and i want that date to appear in a column is there a way i can use flow to automate that process using the file metada or do i have to manually enter the date manually. I'm also looking for a way to automatically generate tags by extracting words used many times in a document. If any of this exists or you have any other ideas it would be much appreciated.

@Anonymous - I am also new to Sharepoint,  but thought all of the metadata was already indexed and searchable, no?

Either way, there is a trigger for when a new item is created, and then an action to "Get File Metadata".  That should set you on the right path, but let us know if it doesn't suit your needs.

    Thanks,

Well I'm looking for a way to automatically make a date column when i upload a document. Most of these files are pretty old so i want the original creation date to show so that if i was looking for documents from 2013 i could look up 2013 and i'll get all the documents that have 2013 in the date column.

    Hi @Anonymous,

Currently, there is no such feature to get the original creation time of the uploaded file.

After uploading the file, the metadata creation time you get is the time you uploaded the file.

I am afraid there is currently no way to achieve such a requirement.
