How to get a gallery to originally display as blank until an item is selected

I have four galleries set up to be based off eachother.
The orange and lighter green label filled gallery I am trying to make show blank before any item is selected. Do you know of a good way to do this?

They show up right after options are selected from the other gallery they depend on but they don't start out blank.

The highest level gallery starts out with IsBlank(ParentTopic) so I was unsure if this could be used to have the gallieres within the light orange box at the bottom to start out blank.
Possibly there's some other setting I could change?

    Good morning I had same issue recently and filtering the datasource based on a variable fixed it for me.
