Power Automate - Generating Sequential Number in a SP List

We are hosting a class and want to be sure the approved attendees are limited to 36. The class is in the future so if someone that's been approved leaves the organization, we want to be able to have another person (may be a new list recor

    Hi there,

It looks like a part of your post got cut off.

What you're asking for is pretty common though and I'm guessing that what you want is:

    1) Set limit to 36.

    2) Allow attendees to register until it hits 36 registrants.

    3) If someone leaves, allow an admin to remove their registration, and ensure the count of users drops back down to 35, which means registration will allow one more person.

Is that accurate? If so, how are they registering?

thank you Rhiassuring for your quick response! I actually want to make this as automated as possible And have had some success following Pieter Veenstra and Tom Riha's posts. What I'm thinking is to 1st reset the assignment field to 0 for those that are 'rejected' (this flow will trigger upon change), then I'll create an array of 36 - the number of available seats in the class. Then I'll compare the seat assignment in the SharePoint list to the first array. So far, so good, I've just succeeded in creating the comparison. I'll have to check for duplicates and those > 36 - but I haven't tackled that challenge just yet. Then I'll check that if they are 'approved' and have no assignment, I'll use one of the open slots in the array to do that.

Do you think that process will work effectively? I'm about to start working on the seat assignment updates, then I'll tackle duplicates and overage. ps. the SharePoint list has content approval turned on, but I only have the approval trigger on item creation so it should be ok that the _ModerationStatus field is 'pending' for everyone, but I'd like to avoid rewrites as much as possible.

My biggest challenge so far has been the syntax of the array fields for selects, composes and compares. I'm just starting to dive into the more complex issues so please let me know if you have any advice! Thank you again!
