Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

I have added the new Map control from the Media menu and have the Shape Drawing (preview) features turned on. I am able to draw a shape, save the shape GeoJSON data to a collection and then view the shape on a second map by joining the second map to the collection.

I then took the GeoJSON data and put it in a SharePoint list and set my second map to the SharePoint list but the map does not work the same. The shape sort of shows up but without the label and without any map "stuff" behind the shape... it's just gray.

The GeoJSON data is in a multi line field in my SharePoint list.

I noticed that when I view the collection in a gallery, and copy the GeoJSON to a text file, the GeoJSON data is in triplicate... don't know why. "type": "FeatureCollection" is in the text file 3 times with all the other data and coordinates. I tried adding just the one instance of the data to SharePoint and also added all the data to SharePoint, no difference.

Is there somethin I need to do differently to make the GeoJSON data work from SharePoint?

Update:

I collected the data directly to my SharePoint list. The data was not in triplicates and all the text that had double quotes around it, now has double double quotes

"something"
becomes
""something""

and the whole thing, when exported to a CSV file is in double quotes.

Tried updating my GeoJSON string but still no success.

I have it working and the double quote part has nothing to do with it. Not sure what I changed exactly but it's working. No need for quotes around the whole GeoJSON string. I think SharePoint did that on export to CSV.

I have it working. I don't know what I did wrong exactly but it's working. Now I just have to plug my coordinates in.

Why is "kind" used?

When I collect the GeoJSON I see that there is a "label" option and if used this is the label of the shape. In the example, the shape label comes from a different column in the Excel data. I'm wondering if the idea is to define properties and use them in the app, or are we to put the property data in columns in Excel/SharePoint/... and reference it that way?
