Create PDF file from Word template using PA Desktop

I have a workflow which uses Adobe PDF Services premium connector. We do have a license for PA Desktop so wondered if we could use that instead of paying for Adobe. I cannot see any create file from Word as pdf. Is this possible? This is my first foray into PA Desktop. Thank you.

You can however, there isn't an action for this in PAD, you would have to build a flow to open Word, then click save as... and save as a PDF.

This is a feature of Cloud Flow, so you can use the Cloud Flow action to do the conversion instead of PAD. Word Online (Business) - Connectors | Microsoft Learn

Hi @eddoria

The options also depend on the content of the Word document (graphics/images/tables/hyperlinks etc) but generally they come out fine using any of the below options.

1. Using the below PAD actions

- Set Default Printer (Set this to Microsoft Print to PDF)

- Print Document

2. Using any scripting languages like Python, vbscript or a VBA macro

Thanks for the response. I eventually with with Word Online in Power Automate. We have a license to use that premium connector. There is a convert Word to PDf action.

I originally thought I would use Desktop however I am trying to keep all the flow actions within the flow.
