Power Apps Grid Control and using the Lookup Feature within the control configuration

Hi There Community.

I have today been playing with the Power Apps Grid Control for one of my table entities. I have a table entity that has a 2 lookup columns to another table. In the main view Form, these lookups work as I would expect, they show the Lookup View I have created. Whilst I made a mistake on the Primary column, for my POC I have proven I can show and filter on different columns to pick the row I like. The Form then shows the ID (Primary column on my lookup table). For now I have added a quick view form field for the actual name / description of the lookup.

In taking these a step further to use an Editable Power Apps Grid Control, the grid doesn't seem to work as I would have hoped. I'm unsure if this is bugs or my usage. I'll describe the 2 issues below.

  1. In Editable mode, the lookup lists only show the Primary Column. Is this as expected? (I could resolve by recreating my tables to use a logical primary column and not id)
  2. The Lookup column seems limited to a small subset of data (maybe 25 rows). There seems no way to change this.
  3. Finally the larger issue. I have used the Property Item Lookup area to configure my 2 lookup columns to use a different lookup (a from and To Column - a mapping essentially). I have configured these to use 2 different Lookup Views. This can be seen here

What I hoped and interpreted this would do is provide different values in a drop accordingly. However this is not the case. I can see why the list only shows the primary column and doesn't allow cross field lookup on any column (as configured for a normal lookup in the main form)

Am I using  this incorrectly and has anyone experience with this feature? What I'm doing seems logical from background reading U've done, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm happy to provide feedback; however as I'm new to Power Apps and Model Driven Apps, I'm unsure if I'm trying something which isn't achievable.

Regards

Dave

    Hi @dgaskellgw

    1. I'm afraid the lookup lists only show and search on the Primary Column unlike the full-fledged lookup field which shows 2nd and 3rd columns in the lookup view as subtitles and searching works for all columns specified in the Quick Find View.

    2. The Lookup column only shows the first page of data and it does not seem to load the subsequent pages. I guess the only way is to filter more by typing some more characters to narrow down the search result to one page.

    3. Property Item Lookup configuration is probably a placeholder for future enhancement I guess. At the moment, anything that you choose in that configuration is not going to work and the lookup lists will be shown from the Lookup View of the table.
