Hi all,

I'm new to PAD and trying to automate a web navigation. When I click a link, edge opens a new tab. However, I cannot continue to send commands because edge doesnt recognize this new tab.. how is the correct way to continue an automation when a new tab is opened? Thx!

Hi! I’m new to PAD too! Does the new tab automatically show as the main page? Do you need the tab to stay open, or are you trying to work on the original page?

Yes, new tab shows as the main page. I want to send commands in this newly created tab, however when I try it, i get error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". What am I doing wrong?

To be more specific, here is a similar scenario:
1) Open new Edge window w/ any URL (e.g. www.microsoft.com)
2) Then open a link in a new tab (e.g. select link then send keys Ctrl+Enter)
3) When I try "Get details of web page", parameter ="Web browser's current URL address", PAD shows me the URL from original tab, not the new one
4) As a result, I'm not able to control anything in the second tab

What am I doing wrong? How to control multiple tabs from one instance of Edge?
