Numbers showing with 10 decimal places

Hi,

I'm passing float values through from Dynamics to an Email record.  They should be coming through with 2 decimal places (that is what the decimal is set to in the field in Dynamics), but they are coming through with 10 decimal places.

I've tried setting a number format for one of the values but it is still coming through with 10dps.   Short of converting them to strings

I'm stumped!

    Hi @simonsnell ,

Your format number function appear to be correct. You need to use the output of the format number function in your table or email:

Here is another example. The second format number function below, C2, was entered as a custom value value, but both are exactly the same:

See Reference guide for expression functions - Azure Logic Apps | Microsoft Docs | formatNumber

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your suggestion.  Here is what I tried, and here is the result:-

Here is the result from the flow:-

Unfortunately although I'm passing the value from the formatted number, it still appears with all the zeros.

I suspect that the issue is that when it is passed to our email template system (ClickDimensions), it is the raw data without the formatting, so the zeros get added automatically.

    Any further ideas?

Can you try one of the default formats:

We can also use an expression to convert the number format:

    formatNumber(variables('TotalVouchers'),'C2', 'en-GB')

Does the above fix the issue?

Re: Numbers showing with 10 decimal places

    Hi

Thanks.  I think the fundamental issue was that I was passing these through a "decimal" field, rather than a string.  I'm trying it now with a string field.

This works with the Currency (C2) format as suggested.

    Thank you
