Power Pages integrates with Azure Active Directory B2C causes duplicated record in Contact table

I have a newly created Power Pages Web app and an Azure AD B2C Tenant. I have follow the instructions here to integrate with Azure AD B2C. The register was going fine, but then I realize every single time I login to the Power Pages App, a new record was added to `Contact` table. These record contains the same email, username,... So I have some critical questions:

- Is that a default behavior of AD B2C?

- How can I prevent that behavior to happen?

Thank a lot!!

    Hi @Hannz ,

When you register on your portal via B2C, this will create a new Contact in D365, on that newly created contact record, under related you should find something called 'External Identity', it is bascially the B2C user ID.

When you deactivated that contact, or deleted the External Identity record that linked with the contact, B2C can no longer find the matching contact, hence it will create a new contact.

Thank you, @domliu, for responding! I was almost giving up as this would never reach to anyone.

So basically this system does behave correctly, right?

But that seems abnormal for me when every single time a user logging in the system, a new Contact record is created for nothing. Or can you please tell me the use of it?

And, which one should I give the "Web Role" control to Account record or the Contact record?

Thank you again, a lot!! Really !! 🙂

    Hi @Hannz ,

If a new contact created everytime a existing user logged in, thats abnormal, but its probably related with Azure B2C side tather than D365 side.

You should give Web Role to Contact, web role should contains table permissions.

    Cheers,

    Dom
