Compatibility of devices for Barcode Reader

Has anyone experienced compatibility issues with the new Barcode Reader? I have a Samsung galaxy S23 ultra and it works great and scans in seconds compared to the old one... but the tablets in the WHS do not work at all? and they are Galaxy Tab A7 lite. The old scanner works with the tablets just fine but the new scanner does not, and I would like to upgrade the app without having to get new hardware.

Also had a problem running on a Zebra TC72.

Does the New Barcode Reader need a minimum resolution or a certain version of android, or perhaps processor? I could not find specs in the documentation unless i am missing it.

Thanks.,

I also have the same problem with the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and the new Barcode Reader control. The scan button brings up the camera but it will not scan anything - QR or barcodes. I have tried the various Scanning modes and Barcode type but none work on this device.

For now I have enabled the retired barcode control but I would like to use the new functionality and speed of the new reader.

Not to dog pile here, but I too have been experiencing this same issue with this same tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. I realize now that all the problems I started having after April 6th, more than likely stemmed from the swap over to the barcode reader. Hopefully there's some movement on getting this issue fixed soon.

I did just put a "legacy" barcode scanner button back into the app et voilà it works on the tablet. Now I get to explain to the client why it took 3 weeks and a factory reset of their tablet before I found all of this out... 🤦‍♀️

Experiencing discrepancies in functionality between two different tablets. One is Samsung Tab A (SM-T510) and the other Oukitel RT1, Both on Android 11.

Could not find any content/documentation on any requirements for the BarCodeReader-component.

I am having the same problem.  Cannot scan on Galaxy Tab A7.  It works on my phone and some other devices but not on Galaxy Tab A7.

Well it looks like the the Active 4 pro from Samsung is the way to go with the new scanner, it also looks like they fixed the bug with the rotation issue so the scanner works right away in either orientation not requiring it to wake.
