Two SharePoints Lists - one for 'saving form so far', the other for form compelted

Hello,

I've been working on something for a few hours and wanted to sense-check if it's even possible since I keep running into a patch error.

I have a functioning form that submits data to a SharePoint list and then copies it to Excel.

I want to add a 'save' button so users can save their progress within the form.

Initially, I copied the submit SharePoint list so the columns match and named it "Saved So Far SharePoint." I added a button to patch data to this new SharePoint list when users save their progress. This works fine, and I even have a gallery to load the saved items back into the form. However, when I click submit, I get the following error:

"Network error when using Patch function: The specified record was not found."

The title, a unique column, is the same, and the columns match. Does anyone have an idea why this error pops up? I keep getting mismatch errors when I google it.

An alternative could be to keep all the data in one SharePoint list and use a 'submitted' column to mark rows/assets that are completed, then filter based on this.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would need more detail to see why your patch function is not working, but I would wrap it in the IfError(). Then pull out the error information. You can find more information online on what you specifically are looking for - be it an https request or whatnot, but keep trying to pull more error information out about the patch function.

Write thanks for the tip that IfError() would produce an error code - as didn't know this
