Is it possible to create 2 or more columns in browse gallery 1 (for landscape tablet apps). I've tried wrapping the field, which gives the desired effect, except that "NextArrow" loses functionality. Not sure what the issue is.

For Gallery control, there are several kinds of existing views for your to pick. You can select one of them here:
And of course, if you have different requirement, you can always manually add your own fields by inserting controls like label in the template part of the Gallery. The template part is the first part of the gallery control.
About the navigation icon, please check its OnSelect property. See if the formula is Navigate(ScreenName,None). Also make sure that there are not crossing area of the controls inside the template part.
