Model driven app - setting up different views for different navigation items

Hey Everyone,

I have been struggling with this for a while now. I have a model-driven app which is supposed to have two navigation items which display the same dataverse table. Checklist Headers is the name of the table. The Checklist Headers table has column "Is Template" which I want to use as a differentiator between template checklists and transactional ones. I want to have two navigation items -one which is for the template, and another for the transactional checklists. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to define different sets of views for the two navigation items because they refer to the same Dataverse table. Is there a way to achieve this, standard or custom?

The structure I want to define is shown below:

Navigation item: Checklists

Table: Checklist Headers

Views: All Checklists, My Checklists

Navigation Item: Checklist Template

Table: Checklist Headers

Views: All Checklist Templates, My Checklist Templates.

Thanks,

Simeon

Hi @Simeon_Ivanov - there is not currently a supported way of achieving this directly via the left navigation

In the past I have created a custom page, with a sub menu of views based on what was clicked from the left navigation and used navigate() to direct the user to the model driven app view.

Perhaps something like this might be suitable for your requirement?

Thanks. I decided to make a dedicated table for the templates.

    Hi  @SBax ,

I have also created a custom page and buttons that are supposed to direct the user to specific views of the same table. Unfortunatly, this formula from MS documentation does not work in my app: Navigate( 'Accounts (Views)'.'My Active Accounts' )'

Did you use this syntax ? Any idea ? (I tried with different table and views without success). Thanks.

Use Power Fx in custom page for your model-driven app - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn
