Follow a link without clicking on it.

Hello.
I am in a situation where I have a link, that opens a specific application.

It look similar to this: url:sbsyslauncher:KladdeRegistreringId=xxxxxx&ConServerName=xsxsx-SQL01\SBSYS&ConDatabaseName

 

It can't be opened by the browserfunction – since it is not a proper URL.


When PAD clicks on the link there is no problem, but I wondered if there is a possibility to get PAD to follow the link, without having to create it as an UI element and then click it.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

    You can extract the href attribute with the Get details of element on web page action, then use the result as an input somewhere else.

    The link isn’t from a website, but I just have the text in a word document for now. So, I need kind of an input for PAD, so it can just execute the hyperlink from within PAD. If this is possible at all.

     

    Whenever I use the link as a input it also says Syntax error, so I am not sure if its possible to make it understand the link.

    Right click on the link and see if you have an option to “copy address”. This should look different than the text that you are currently seeing. Paste that into notepad to see if it is different. If it is, use that instead. 

    If that doesn’t work, click on the link manually. When it gets to the website, copy the address out of the web address bar and use that for your input. If there are % signs, you may have to double them up. I believe if you take the address, and put it into an ‘Escape Text’ action, it should do all the doubling you need.  Then take the %EscapedText% and put it in your URL variable.
