I'm attempting to add a datepicker to a SharePoint list form and I'm not quite able to figure it out. I have a regular text field that I'd like to replace with a calendar date picker. Similar to what's described here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Adding-a-DatePicker-to-a-EditForm-on-a-Sharepoint-Normal-Text/td-p/793607
I added the datepicker and I get a red x when I change the DefaultDate field as mentioned in the forum post.
Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

The DefaultDate cannot be itself - it needs to be the field it is displaying, so assuming a field name of 'Delivery Date' and it is a Date field, it would be
ThisItem.'Delivery Date'

Thanks Warren. I tried that and it just displays 12/31/2001. How can I add a date picker to the form as an input?
I'd like the user to just select the date from a calendar when they enter the field.
Firstly that is the InputTextHolder and you can delete that if you do not want the user to see the required format for the input. If that is a Date Picker, what mode is the form in (I suspect View) as I cannot see the right side icon. Also what did you put as the DefaultDate and what is the name and type of field in SharePoint it is writing to?
Thanks again for the help. The mode is edit. I discovered the the type of field that it's writing to in SharePoint was set to single line of text. I set that to Date & Time but it didn't make a difference. I've attached a couple more screenshots to help with troubleshooting.

Any idea why the date picker isn't working? When I click on the field in SharePoint nothing happens.
SharePoint form:
If you have changed the field type in SharePoint since you added the Date Picker, delete that Data Card and then add a new one with the date field. Power Apps should take care of all the settings and it will work.
