Assistance Request for Power Apps Development - Calendar displays only the month

I am in need of a Power Apps screen that features a calendar displaying months exclusively. Within each respective month, the application should showcase the names of individuals on vacation during that period, along with the corresponding start and end dates. This information will be sourced from a SharePoint list where the names, start dates, and end dates are stored.

  1. Calendar Display:

    • Display months with vacation details as previously outlined.
    • Include names, start dates, and end dates sourced from a SharePoint list.
  2. Filter by Year:

    • Include a filter at the top for users to select a specific year, facilitating the viewing of vacation details for the chosen timeframe.
  3. Filter by Name:

    • Integrate a filter option that enables users to input a specific name, refining the displayed information to show only the vacation details for the selected individual across all months.

In addition to the specifications mentioned previously, I would like to share that I have already created a calendar based on the instructional video by Shane Young.

    Yes, I had already seen this video! But I couldn't find anything to help me make a calendar as I explained above! Based only on months and years!

    I've attached an image of how it should look, just below the months the person's name and the date they'll be on vacation in the respective month!

    Hi @Pizzolati

    Would you consider using the new DatePicker control (Modern Controls).  I used it along with Reza's Calendar demo.  It allows the user to easily navigate to a Year and Month similar to your image.  However, the user must select a Day in the month for the control to fire and for Reza's calendar to update.

    Okay, thanks for the reply. But I don't want a complete calendar, I don't need the days, just a gallery with the months. From there, there will be another gallery (from the sharepoint list) containing the name and the start and end of the vacation in the respective month.

    Ah - I think I get it now ...

    I created this using a Blank Vertical Gallery

    Let me know if this is what you want to do.  I can give you the steps I used if you want.

    That's it, basically! And the months won't be buttons for the dates, the only extra information that's missing would be the name/start/end of the vacation in the respective months under the months, for example.
    John; Start: 10/01/2023 ; End: 13/01/2023

    Richard ; Start: 15/03/2023 ; End: 21/03/2023

    maycon; Start: 10/11/2024; End: 15/11/2024

    When it opens in 2023
    In the month of January, John's name and information will appear underneath the respective month. In March, the same thing. And when it opens in 2024 or the following years, the same thing.

    Here are the contents of my Screen :

    daved3_0-1706458332591.png

    I used a Blank Vertical Gallery.  In the Items property i just enter the months

    ["January", "February", "March", "April", "May", "June", "July", "August", "September", "October", "November", "December"]

    The WrapCount on the Gallery is 3

    In the Gallery I put a Button ctl on top of Image ctl to make the shading effect.  If you don't want the tiles to be buttons, you could replace the button with another image control.

    In the screens OnVisible property I set locYear variable

    Set(locYear, Year(Today()));

    ANd then locYear is the Text field for lblSelectedYear

    The Left and Right icon just increment the locYear

    Set(locYear, locYear-1)  or Set(locYear, locYear+1)

    The Text field for the button is just

    ThisItem.Value & " - " & locYear

    Thank you very much, Dave. Could you just help me set up a filter like the one in the example above your comment?

    So this is what I got...

    daved3_0-1706469690847.png

    Here is what my Sharepoint list looks like

    daved3_1-1706469831299.png

    For the Gallery I mentioned earlier, I had to change the Items Property to include the Month #.  Here is what i have now in Items property:

    [
    {Month:"January", Value:1},
    {Month:"February", Value:2},
    {Month:"March", Value:3},
    {Month:"April", Value:4},
    {Month:"May", Value:5},
    {Month:"June", Value:6},
    {Month:"July", Value:7},
    {Month:"August", Value:8},
    {Month:"September", Value:9},
    {Month:"October", Value:10},
    {Month:"November", Value:11},
    {Month:"December", Value:12}
    ]

    Here is the new list of controls on my Screen

    daved3_2-1706470086265.png

    In lblMonth i am using it to hold the month number.  The Text property is set to:

    ThisItem.Value

    I set the Visible property to false because I am only using it as a placeholder

    I added the GalleryUserDates as a second vertical gallery embedded in the parent gallery to list all the users and dates.  The Items property for this one is set to

    Filter(TestList,
    StartDate>=Date(locYear,Value(lblMonth.Text),1)
    &&
    StartDate<Date(locYear,Value(lblMonth.Text)+1,1)
    )

    Then Title7 is just

    ThisItem.Title & ", from " & ThisItem.StartDate & " to " & ThisItem.EndDate

    Let me know if I forgot any other details...

    Dave
