Filter out one value from a collection

Hi All, Hopefully an easy one.....

I am trying to filter a collection form a SharePoint list (FinRequests) choice field called Status. I want to filter out the "Completed" option as this will be changed automatically when certain conditions are met and will also trigger a flow that sends out an email, so I don't want it accidentally selected. Here is what I thought should work but it doesn't:

ClearCollect(
collectStatus,
Filter(Distinct(FinRequests, Status.Value),Status.Value <> "Completed")
);

Please try this:
ClearCollect( collectStatus, Distinct(Filter(FinRequests),Status.Value <> "Completed"),Status.Value) );
