Hi Community,

 

I have a minor issue, I have multiple forms on one screen on navigation to this screen I would like it to default to a particular form, does anyone know a way of implementing this? Currently there are about 8 forms that are visible on selection of a gallery value.

 

If this is something that is possible could someone let me know?

    Are you ever using multiple forms at once?

    Otherwise, it will be simpler to:

    1. Create a screen per form
      • Form is always visible, no dynamic details here
    2. On Select of your Gallery
      • Conditionally navigate to the appropriate screen
      • If needed, move some of the record's context to the screen (assumes you want to show Gallery/row/details, in context of the form)
      • If selecting the Gallery should have resulted in multiple forms being shown/used
        • ClearCollect a collection of the Forms/Screens in their order
        • On the individual form screens, have a Button
          • If there's another form to do, navigate to that screen when done with current screen
          • Else go back to the Gallery screen
    3. On Completion of Form
      • Navigate back to screen with the gallery

     

    While you can conditionally show/hide items on a screen, it can and will become harder and harder to maintain appropriate layering/behavior. It also serves minimal value and slows down the app/screen overall. You will be much happier with the maintenance of the app if you properly utilize screens and make them simple to maintain, and simpler to use (for the user - less on screen, more focused on task at-hand).

    I can see your view, so let me show you what I'm working with.
    The reason I decided upon the one screen route was because the users that are using the app will be performing an audit and they need to easily flick between the forms and fill in different sections at different times then submit the entry as one item having one button that is always visible. My end users will not like the feel of having to go back and forth to enter different sections of the audit, which is why I have set up my screen as below so that the gallery is on the screen and each form is visible dependant on which gallery item is selected.
    Maybe a solution would be if possible that the first item in the gallery is the default elected item??
